In reality, pure cotton can be unpredictable — the bleach reaction is harder to control, and results can vary wildly from shirt to shirt. The Gildan Softstyle's specific fabric blend gives us a more consistent, even reaction every time we apply bleach. That means better fades, cleaner edges, and a more reliable finished product.
Why Not Comfort Colors?
Comfort Colors are a fantastic blank — soft, pigment-dyed, and great for a lot of applications. But for bleaching, they're not usually our first choice. The pigment dyeing process that gives Comfort Colors their signature look can react unpredictably with bleach, making it harder to achieve the controlled, intentional fades we're going for. We'd rather start with a blank that's built for the process.
